There should be no performance impact as long as only one prompter instance is active. In fact, there might be a performance increase...
In some Linux systems, other than the Raspberry Pi, systems which use separate GPUs to draw to separate screens, there can be a significant performance impact for having extended displays. Having windows stacked on top of each other and, drawing to a single screen or showing the same content in both screens, would drastically increase performance in those systems. This is especially true for laptops using external GPUs.
Regarding the Raspberry Pi, the performance increase wouldn't be as noticeable because the same GPU is used for both displays. Nevertheless, I also would expect a slight performance increase because the total screen resolution that would need to be processed is reduced to that of a single screen.
