Currently there are no update sources available for RoomGirl, this is normal.

So that leaves another question for me - I do get the missing zipmod warning at every startup. What could the solution be?

For now you can only download zipmods for RG manually, they are usually found on pixiv, discord, twitter and some Japanese mod sharing websites.
