The first use case represents an improvement since at this point InSynth does not consider already typed symbols - but definitely a useful feature to have.
The second one should use synthesis of method arguments, if I am not mistaking. This is also an improvement (and a very important one) we are looking to integrate as soon as possible, but we are having some issues in determining the type of specific arguments at the moment (there are some complications when interacting with the presentation compiler, which in some cases cannot tell the exact argument type – e.g. think of overloaded curried method definitions and difficulties in determining argument types in those cases).
