We've been investigating the feasibility of a package of yEd software that allows for webhosted graph editing / tools (above and beyond the standalone graph editor). Alex thinks it looks like it could be a very powerful application offering us many of the benefits of the open graphml format with some of the nicer aesthetic features you all enjoy with MindJet. Additional bonus is that they have a lot of compatibility with our current U/I for cross-over applications. Will plan to discuss next week, but wanted to inform you.

Tentatively moving forward with yWorks -> closing this issue, will open new ones based on project milestones.

Is there anything you need from us to assist in the trial phase (similar to our meeting on Nuxeo today)? Should we set aside time next week for this?

What's the timescale for purchasing the license on this? Is there a definite commitment to get the license after X days of the trial, pending our technical review of the library during the trial period? (I haven't seen the email chain if so).

(We currently don't have any resources to do this anyway, I have someone becoming available end Feb (at the latest) unless Caleb gets enough of the way through the Nuxeo work that it makes more sense to move onto that first.)

We can probably get this authorized within the next two months. I'd like to move forward on this functionality sooner than later as this is a complementary capability to Nuxeo. End of February for starting work sounds ok.

We can probably get an arrangement with YFiles similar to Nuxeo to retain information. Would you like me to arrange?

In fact this isn't necessary for yWorks - I believe they have the standard software library licensing, ie they'll give you a trial binary which will stop working, but all your source code etc is still intact as it resides on your servers (unlike the unusual Nuxeo config-as-a-service deal). Then when you pay for the full license they give you a new binary which will work.

OK. We had a good meeting today with Andrew on the integrated solution. If we can get an ETA for completing both the Nuxeo and the yWorks integration that would be helpful, with the full knowledge that it might change as we learn more.

For completing, never I hope :)

For getting to a first usable iteration, it's something like: early March for Nuxeo, late March for yWorks, assuming a typical number of disasters along the way
