Don't think so :D But I'm tweaking the layout this week, so now would be the perfect moment to influence how it is going to look like. Could you please let me know what components of the old layout you like, or show me how you'd like the new one to look like? A picture would be perfect, a photography of something handwritten, whatever - just something helping me to understand what you want to achieve.

Our biggest issue with the old one was that it wasted a lot of CPU resources on your browser once hundreds or thousands of nodes where involved, it was refreshing slow and flickering on refresh.

The new one has to somehow fit the Icinga Web 2 layout, but this doesn't mean that it can look different than it does now. I'll probably change it anyways :p

Hi tgelf,

I like that you are able to see the hierarchical order of the process in the icingaweb. A stolen (source: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bc/Icinga\_Web\_1.8\_Business\_Process\_Monitoring.png) Screenshot is attached.
It's very easy to retrace the whole process with the dependencies for some people who don't work daily with those systems (like a helpdesk :D).

And it's pretty nice to "close and open" the structure - how deep you need it.

At least in my opinion the squares in the current BPs are not usefull, a simple list would be better.

Well... that's possible in the current one too, isn't it? Here is a screenshot:

The difference is that you do not have to drag it around in 2.x, all nodes are collapsible, a refresh doesn't forget how they are folded, clicking the top bar collapses a process, clicking the left bar (un-)collapses all it's direct children.

The "toplevel" view is more for people who love tiles, you can always switch between both. "toplevel" will be renamed to "tile" in the next version and additionally show all parents when drilling down allowing you to easily travel back. The "tree" view will get some styling, and the inline editor will completely change.

To me it sounds like you are talking about the tile/toplevel view, or did I misunderstand what you wrote?

Absolutely - but that should work since early 2015 in the 2.x businessprocess module?!

Well... there are fans of both views. Some of them would definitively kill me if I remove their tiles :D They are good for dashboards, especially when you have lots of processes - but they are not very helpful when drilling down. At least in the current version, this will get better.

Cheers,
Thomas
