@mclearc — indeed there was a compatibility problem with V14 — update to V1.3.9 and attachments should open (or you can quicklook them with ⌘Y)

Hi @mclearc , I don't see this error. It suggests that your date field is missing for that reference, is that the case? I should be able to code defensively around that if that is the problem. Can you show an example reference where searching fails?

I did have a lot of entries without a value for the date field, but I've now filled all those in with the dummy value '0000' and I'm still seeing this error. It is certainly possible that there are entries with weird or missing values for fields. I've got a very large reference library and it isn't as well manicured as it should be 🤷

@mclearc — is both the author and editor name empty? This would also trigger this error. I have worked around this, using the name "Unknown" if both author and editor name is empty, you can test it here:

If it works I'll release V1.3.8

Thanks very much -- this indeed seems to work. I really appreciate the package!

Also -- not sure at all if this is related but I can't get bookends-tools to open pdfs from the selection using option-command right now (i.e. using the fixed version you linked to)

Was that working before and broke in this update?

from bookends-tools.

mclearc avatar mclearc commented on June 19, 2024

I can't say for sure -- I wasn't using it before the update (I'm currently trying to switch back to an alfred-bookends workflow). It doesn't throw an error -- it is just that nothing happens. I see [12:12:54.347] Bookends Tools[Debug] Passing output '45055' to Run Script in the debug. Perhaps my path isn't set correctly (preview of PDFs also isn't working)?

EDIT: my path seems fine -- /Users/roambot/Library/Mobile Documents/iCloud~com~sonnysoftware~bot/Documents
