The left column is mostly "filler" — it contains duplicate data from the forums which can probably be left off without any problems. People don't seem to want the "Who To Follow" box anyways, so I see no reason to bring that on the mobile.

So I don't see how it's not a solution.

User profile is a bit of a bigger issue, and should definitely have the left column displayed.

Why not just display the user profile left column on top of the right column? Facebook does something like that.

On user profiles I think that totally makes sense. Lots of stuff there needs tweaking besides the left column though (probably wanna center the avatar and reflow the links below the cover image) but making the two columns reflow into one is certainly a good start

@vikhyat Because it would take an awful lot of time to scroll through user info, anime breakdown, favorite anime (+ manga?) just to get to your personal feed.
Maybe making it a dropdown would be a nice solution?

As for the dashboard, the current sidebar is not that useful, yes but it will also contain stuff like the link to the dev page (once that is done) and I believe we also wanted to bring back the trending anime section.

Are the modules on user pages and dashboard already split out into an overarching template? If so, it might be possible to make a setting that the boxes can opt in to being collapsible/default-collapsed in mobile, which I think would solve all these issues in a fairly modular way

Yeah, the current structure is pretty much

site
 sidebar
  infobox
  breakdown
  ...
 feed
  postbox
  postlist

So I guess collapsing would be possible, even with a CSS only solution using adjacent sibling selectors.

Tested this on my computer with all sizes as well as on my SGS4 (CM11, Chrome) and it worked fine.
It doesn't hide the right column when displaying the left one atm, might need to add this eventually.
