Update: I tried opening the sidepanel from the same network as the hassio-instance is installed on and it worked. This is something related to opening for traffic through the router.

Did you find a workaround? I have two different access points at home and I can not reach hass.io in the network.

You never access to supervisor direct. It work trought the home-assistant webserver. I have no problem with external access to this panel...

Update: works like a charm for me now. Don't know what I did though except keep the system updated. From my perspective, the issue can be closed.
