This is done automatically for each tab. If not it's a bug. What OS do you use? What is the tab name? Maybe the configuration cannot be saved for some reason.

What is the tab name? - "clipboard"
What OS do you use? - Windows XP x64
write permission granted on a folder with the program.

So basically you lose all items in "clipboard" tab when you exit the application. Is that right?

After starting the app again no items are present in the tab or some recent are missing?

Also check if the "Maximum number of items in history" option in configuration (tab "Clipboard History") is big enough.

Actually if you mean "save tab to a *.cpq file" you need to do that from main menu. I should probably rename open/save actions to import/export.
