Thinking out loud: a common case where this comes up is transposing dataframes that contain PintArrays (homogeneous columns). When these PintArrays are made into rows, Pint and NumPy need to make an array of Quantities, causing problems. Perhaps there's a need for a special-case .pint.T function that could be more efficient and less noisy?
