Can you try to execute the command via the command palette (S-?) instead? It's possible your terminal isn't passing along Alt-d correctly.

I think you're right. I have recently switched to a new terminal and the command works from the palette. I'll test on another terminal.

It's working in Gnome terminal. And just tweaked my settings, so that the alt key works in my new terminal.
