I don't see a sane way to configure this because URLs might depend on a lot of factors. It then seems fair to let users deal with that in their templates directly.

how about a user defined macro mapping function as a flexible solution. It could look like this:

MyMacro.map(classpath:String, type:Type, ?classField:ClassField):String;

on top of such a flexible solution there could be some kind of default behaviour (like mapping by classpath) which could be used from the command line directly like:

-D view-source=cp1::http://www.github.com/whatever/$module/line=$line

where $module and $line are placeholders

$module=foo.bar.Type becomes foo/bar/Type.hx
