I got a mac laptop for a few days, and did some hacking. The basics sort-of work, but there is a deadlock in the unmount code that I couldn't figure out.

If you want to give it a go, install OSXFuse, and try to run one of the tests.

Just an FYI -
Installing on Mac OS X 10.7.5 using go-mtpfs and go-fuse from 3/5/2013 (the latest as of this writing)
here's the errors I'm getting for go-fuse:

I assume these errors are more complicated and probably not easily solved.

# github.com/hanwen/go-fuse/fuse
/usr/local/go/src/pkg/github.com/hanwen/go-fuse/fuse/mountstate_darwin.go:5: ms.mountFile undefined (type *MountState has no field or method mountFile)
/usr/local/go/src/pkg/github.com/hanwen/go-fuse/fuse/mountstate_darwin.go:16: ms.mountFile undefined (type *MountState has no field or method mountFile)

These errors, below, seem to be a bit more about syntax, but I don't know Go:

mount_darwin.go:125[/tmp/go-build762047973/github.com/hanwen/go-fuse/fuse/_obj/mount_darwin.cgo1.go:27]: cannot use nil as type int in return argument
mount_darwin.go:127[/tmp/go-build762047973/github.com/hanwen/go-fuse/fuse/_obj/mount_darwin.cgo1.go:29]: cannot use fd (type _Ctype_int) as type int in return argument

Hope that helps.

I'm curious, as I see work on OSX fuse based on the commit descriptions(?). Is that one (and BSD) in a workable state already? That would be

a) a reason to update the README
b) even more great than this project is already :-)

it sort-of works, but there seems to be some kind of bug in OSXFUSE that
breaks unmount, and I haven't given it any priority.
