Agree, but tab is not a good example because it's not a command starting with \tab..., so there is no reason why you would be typing a backslash. For things like \sum and \int this could make sense.

Yeah okay i guess that one is on me, its just that when i shop around-so to say-for a command i want, i do so via \whatithinkitiscalled and not whatithinkitiscalled so when I am out of practice for a while the live templates can really get me back on my feet.

So is there anything to do here?

Yes, we should still add the backslash for \sum and \int live templates I think?

I'm not sure we want them with sum and int because that might interfere too much with the \sum and \int commands themselves? I'm not sure if it's possible, but can we check if a backslash is already present when completing the live template and if so don't insert it?
