Can't reproduce the first problem. Is it only happens for newly generated links? And where do you generate this link, in the file page or directory page?
The second problem: yes, we removed this feature.

Because I think users can manage links in "Shares" tab and wan't to leave
the file page clean.

Surely there is the Shares tab but displaying it at a file view was more convinient to keep track of shared files and to get the URL to send it to someone directly instead of crawling throught the Shares tab.

The first problem is fixed in version 1.8.1. You can download it now.
The second problem will be addressed in version 1.9.
