Hi there! 👋

🔭 With 14+ years of experience in the field of Bioinformatics, I am currently a Bioinformatics | Genomics Data Scientist at Center for Computational Genomics and Data Science (CGDS). I analyse, visualize and integrate omics and phenotypic datasets from patients with rare, misdiagnosed and undiagnosed diseases in order to understand molecular variation by applying bioinformatics, computational biology and data science methods.

Research Interests

  • Translational bioinformatics; Multiomics; Network Biology; Tool/Pipeline development | Rare, misdiagnosed, undiagnosed diseases; Rare cancer

Experience

  • June 2023-Present: Scientist III, CGDS, School of Medicine, University of Alabama, Birmingham, AL, USA.
  • Dec 2020-May 2023: Postdoctoral Fellow, CGDS, School of Medicine, University of Alabama, Birmingham, AL, USA.
    • NGS Data Analysis, Project Management and Variant Analysis for patients' datasets with rare, misdiagnosed and undiagnosed diseases. Details here
  • 2018-2020: Bioinformatics Research Scientist, QBiC, University of Tuebingen, Germany.
    • NGS Data Analysis and Project Management: Multiple high-throughput data analysis projects from different organisms. Details here
  • 2016-2018: Postdoctoral Fellow (Bioinformatics), Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology, Tuebingen, Germany.
  • 2016: Ph.D. (Bioinformatics), Department of Biotechnology, GNDU, Amritsar, India.
  • 2012-2013: Visiting Ph.D. student (Fulbright-Nehru Fellow), Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, USA
