This is the intended behavior. Inputs are 100% width by default. There is no way for us to prepend something (we'd have to be able to predict what you're putting in that prepend; its width) and then say "input, you should take up the rest of the horizontal space". We could do it with javascript, but that is super weak when users could tweak this in SCSS to fit their application. Its kind of up to you to tweak the framework to your specific needs. The nature of a framework is to give you a starting point from which to "bootstrap" the rest of your development. I wish we could solve all of the use cases, but we just cant. If we try to, we will fail. Sorry that im responding to tell you "Gumby doesnt do that", I know its a crappy answer to hear :(. If you find an elegant solution, we'd love for you to submit a pull request!
