Just to clear up current terminology:

.file(path) is a source stream that emits one file object
.files(glob) is a source stream that emits all files that match a glob

.folder(path) is a destination stream that writes file objects to disk

Originally .folder() was supposed to be a duplex stream so you could pipe folders together but that made things more confusing. Can you redo the example in the README in your ideal version of the lib so we can compare?

from gulp.

Thanks for the clarification. Seems I got them backwards, highlighting the ease of confusion. #10 is a pull request where I change .files() to .src() and .folder() to .dest().

I didn't see .file() in the README, and also don't see a functional difference between it and .files(). If my input to .src() has a * or is an array, I'm asking for many. If it doesn't have a *, I only want one. Since pipes shouldn't care how many files pass through them, this seems an artificial difference. Is there a use-case that requires knowing if the user selected one or many files?

from gulp.

@robrich .file() is completely artificial and only exists for the purpose of sugar. If .files() is changed to .src() then .file can be removed
