You're right, this looks like a regression. Setting wrapped to false should prevent your template function from being wrapped in Handlebars.template(...), and v0.5.7 on npm does this correctly again.

Your original post shows the correct output. If you don't want your templates wrapped with Handlebars.template
set wrapped
to false. It defaults to true.
