Hi, glad to ear that all works fine for you 👍
To the question, where you need to call makeMiddleware
function, passing the logger instance? If you are using the dependency injection technique (that is using forRoot
or forRootAsync
) you should be able to retrieve the winston Logger
instance (to pass to makeMiddleware
) using the WINSTON_MODULE_PROVIDER
injection token.
from nest-winston.
I was able to make it work getting the winston instance from src/main.ts
:
import { NestFactory } from '@nestjs/core';
import { AppModule } from './app.module';
import {
WINSTON_MODULE_NEST_PROVIDER,
WINSTON_MODULE_PROVIDER,
} from 'nest-winston';
import * as lw from '@google-cloud/logging-winston';
async function bootstrap() {
const app = await NestFactory.create(AppModule);
app.useLogger(app.get(WINSTON_MODULE_NEST_PROVIDER));
const logger = app.get(WINSTON_MODULE_PROVIDER);
const loggingMiddleware = await lw.express.makeMiddleware(logger);
app.use(loggingMiddleware);
await app.listen(3000);
}
bootstrap();
Of course, I get an error about authorizations, which is good:
Don't forget to use forRoot
or forRootAsync
in you app module. Feel free to comment or re-open this issue if you have any problem.
