The class WinstonLogger
from nest-winston
implements LoggerService
from nestjs/common
, which is an interface and doesn't define any setContext
method.
However, as you may notice, both the WinstonLogger
and the original Logger
from nestjs/common
are implementations and have a setContext
method. So, to avoid a TypeScript error (as I guess) you can force the type:
import { Controller, Get, Inject, Logger, LoggerService } from '@nestjs/common';
import { WinstonLogger } from 'nest-winston';
import { AppService } from './app.service';
@Controller()
export class AppController {
constructor(private readonly appService: AppService,
@Inject(Logger) private readonly logger: LoggerService) {
(logger as WinstonLogger).setContext('AppController');
}
@Get()
getHello(): string {
this.logger.log('Inside AppController');
return this.appService.getHello();
}
}
Note that if you change the implementation, this will not work anymore.
