I had mused, though I have no real evidence, whether it might be an issue with not resetting the suspension clock after desuspending a tab due to its taking focus?

Same issue here. Windows 7, Chrome 27.0.1453.94
I also suspect, that the timer is not reset when the tab is unsuspened.

I am having the same issue. It appears to only be a problem with the "Automatically unsuspend when tab gains focus" option enabled.
