Hi. There's a little confusion here - mimirtool doesn't support "listing" currently active alerts, which is what the Prometheus Alertmanager API /api/(v1|v2)/alerts does.
mimirtool only supports getting (and setting) configurations. I think your problem is that you need to leave off the /alertmanager prefix, these routes point to the Prometheus Alertmanager API:
mimirtool alertmanager get --address=<mimir-address> --id=anonymous
The configuration APIs are not prefixed:

Given @stevesg 's response, I don't think this is actually a bug. Please reopen if you think there's been a mistake.
