i wonder if the issue you reported is the same as what i saw and was talking about on go-nuts the other day.
did you look at the metrics outputs when it was hanging? i presume it wasn't sending any more metrics either?
i remember when i was building the aggregator, i noted https://github.com/graphite-ng/carbon-relay-ng/blob/master/aggregator/aggregator.go#L92
so maybe that's the issue. i have to look at your goroutine dump. thanks for dumping it, it'll be very useful
can you reproduce the issue consistently? a blocking profile should be useful too
also what does your traffic look like? how many metrics are you sending into it? does it max out cpu or anything like that?

I can verify this is fixed for me. I've ran carbon-relay-ng for about 30 minutes without problems.
