There's a huge difference between new() { ... } and new { ... }. The former is a target-typed new expression, using an existing known type. The latter is an anonymous type initialization expression.

I agree with putting { on a new line... but please don't remove () thinking it's only about formatting.

@jskeet Thanks for the comment. I'm indeed just moving { to the next line and not changing new() to new.

Oh yes, sorry about the confusion! We are indeed using anonymous types (and then serializing those to JSON) for some of these samples that don't expose all the messages, but that's not here.
