Related, if running alphafold using the full_dbs setting does that mean only the apache license applies? Is it only the casp14 parameters that are covered under the creative commons license?

Will this guarantee that work arising from alphafold will not be patented commercially? If not, it might be a good idea to prioritize making all finding somehow public domain, or other measures to prevent one company from trying to lock away all the findings behind patents/other legal means and maybe even make them disclose it publicly to avoid trade secrets.

Any AlphaFold model parameters that DeepMind has made public are freely licensed under a creative commons attribution license for any use - industrial (commercial) or otherwise.

Any person creating an invention that may relate to AlphaFold (e.g., improvements) may apply for a patent to that work. Other patent rights related to AlphaFold may be governed by the Apache License, version 2.0, under which AlphaFold is open sourced.

Closing this issue now as with the parameter license change it is resolved.
