See go help packages
:
Many commands apply to a set of packages:
go action [packages]
Usually, [packages] is a list of import paths.
[The help section then describes other handling of [packages]
such as the special reserved words all
, std
, and the ...
wildcard and then ends with:]
Directory and file names that begin with "." or "_" are ignored by the go tool, as are directories named "testdata".
So they aren't ignored in the sense you imply (directly referencing them in an import
statement) but are ignored by go tools. E.g. doing go test ./...
will run try to build and test the package in the current directory and packages in all sub-directories but this ignores all directories such as _foo
, .bar
, or testdata
.

By ignored you mean not parsed by the go tools. Hmm, I still think you can explicitly import them, and the go tools can't ignore them then 😄
