Just tested with latest gmusicapi release (8.0.0): the get_registered_devices is deprecated for Webclient api. GMusicProxy doesn't use it since many releases.

I upgraded gmusicproxy and the function works well.
but it is no longer necessary the device_id?

Ok, great. Don't forget to update gmusicproxy. By default it should notify you about new versions on each startup.
Yes, a real device_id is no more necessary. You can generate one from the mac address of your PC using the specific. It just works but I can't assure it will do in the future.
