automatic feeds compaction about birdreader HOT 4 CLOSED

Good idea. I shall have a look at doing this, but perhaps making it optional for people who want to keep their history.

The articles db isnt really growing that large - over about a week with 80 feeds it has got to about 750 docs taking up about 2mb.

The feeds db is the one which is growing quite large i think due to the updates of each feed document each time the articles are updated. I have looked at the revisions of the feed docs and cannot see what has changed so am not sure why they are being updated - most of the feeds docs now have a _rev of over 500

Databases on Cloudant (hosted CouchDB) are automatically compacted (at their discretion), but I've added daily compaction for users who are using plain CouchDB. When I call the compaction api call on Cloudant, it replies back with "Error: compaction is automatic on Cloudant'", but that's ok.
