How many training games were in src/data? I have started a new subdirectory each time for the games, although I haven't looked at the code to see if it does a *.gz or tries to go in some sort of numerical order.

I was able to get the outputs:
Test parse passes
step 100, policy loss=7.40686 mse=0.0559348 reg=0.253657 (0 pos/s)
step 200, policy loss=7.17461 mse=0.0537378 reg=0.253866 (812.894 pos/s)

Earlier when I used an incorrect Tensorflow version, the code hang forever (more than 10 hours!). The outputs I posted above was from Tensorflow 1.4. @vondele Please check your version.

@brianprichardson tried with 40 *gz and with 1.
@student-t this could be an issue, was trying to train with 1.2 and now have the same problem with 1.3.... I see the requirements are listed as 1.4. I guess that is the issue. Let's see if I can get 1.4 to run on the system.

from_generator is new in 1.4.
Weird that it doesn't just error out. Maybe support was incomplete in 1.3.

OK, closing as understood. I guess it is unlikely TF 1.3 will be supported.
