As far as I can tell, that's a nasty little bug in Jetpacks that erases all storage when upgrading. Does that sound right?
I'll file a bug against Jetpack, and see if I can figure out a way around it.

Yes! Thanks for finding out what this (probably) is. Since I am running Aurora, it is certainly possible that upgrading the browser is what results in the settings being wiped. Thanks for filing the bug!

Even merely updating the add-on has the same effect, which is really bad. The add-on updates silently in the background, so there's no indication that all your settings will be wiped. Luckily, settings in BugzillaJS are relatively trivial to re-check-- however I can see this being really bad for anything that uses Simple-Storage for anything important.
