Has any work been done on this enhancement? I am very interested in this feature and may be able to assist.

@geomapdev Nothing yet! There is currently no concept of reporting/analysis within Collect but it's something that a number of users have expressed interest in. The first step would be to start describing what this feature could look like and where it would fit in with either the existing Collect interface or an idealized one. Would love to hear your thoughts.
P.S. Nice username. π

ha, thanks! you too. :)
I think this could either warrant a new button on the main menu "View Map". Or if the "View Sent Forms" view could be changed to "View ALL Forms", then the mapview could be included there as an option.
"View All Forms" could have these view options (similar to how "Send Finalized Form" works with "Change View"):
Show Unsent Forms (List), Show Sent Forms (List), Show Unsent Forms (Map), Show Sent Forms (Map)

This is now tracked on the roadmap and the forum. This issue can be re-opened once there's an approved spec.

Ok, I probably shouldn't have closed this while @zestyping worked on a spec because things moved very quickly!
There is still some discussion on the forum but the TSC discussed it at their meeting today and gave preliminary approval. Some members may have some small changes to suggest but everyone is on board with the general feature and approach.

@geomapdev At very long last, this is now a reality! It's currently in beta if you'd like to check it out: https://forum.opendatakit.org/t/visualize-on-the-fly-in-the-mobile-phone-the-data-collected-with-odk-on-a-map/12881/19
