Use different storage backend about geminabox HOT 2 CLOSED

I've considered it before, but for S3 in particular, it's problematic because the default rails indexer is looking for gems on the local disk to index. Moving to a remote index would require a different indexer (possibly liftable from rubygems.org), that could index without local gems. I'd also expect a lot more work in the way of a database layer, as we have to know what gems to use.

Basically, it adds a whole lot of complexity to both the code base, and the setup process.
