Thanks for your quick answer. I tried "curl -I http://localhost:9292" :

$ curl -I http://localhost:9292

It seems to be a proxy. I am at my office. I tried with my IP address and it works great ! When I use localhost or 127.0.0.1 the problem occurs. The command doesn't seem to know what addresses match the local machine (see file /etc/hosts)

Wow, that's a fairly strange setup. There must be some form of proxy on your local machine, possibly some authoritarian tendril of an Orwellian grade enterprise security setup. Very odd indeed.
