Regarding the dmg installation, I just added my own tap and install it with brew. Easy enough and more inline with macOS installations. https://github.com/oxyc/homebrew-custom/blob/master/Casks/kitty.rb

Another solution would be something like:
extra_shell_commands:
- "brew services start khd"
- "vagrant plugin install vagrant-hostsupdater"
- "vagrant plugin install vagrant-vbguest"
post_provision_scripts:
- scripts/bash4.sh
- scripts/base16-shell.sh
- scripts/vimrc.shRelated #37.

I like both of those options, especially extra_shell_commands. However, I'm trying to think of a way we could make it idempotent... I just hate seeing changed whenever I rerun my playbooks :P
Maybe post_provision_tasks or scripts instead, and prefer that instead of simple commands?
