Maybe I'm missing something but GeometryTypeIO is a intersection of a union of literals with another literal, hence is a uninhabited type

Good idea, I might find some time this week-end to turn it into a package.
And yes, I pasted several pieces from different versions and messed it up :)

When reviewing it a bit I realized how basic it was though, as the RFC is more than just the shape of the data and more checks should be made to ensure that the content itself is valid.
Well, it has its use as is though.
