Did the Jasmine run environment of application? If it is - you can use new global variables, which can be managed in any area of rails app which uses gon.
I'm sorry, I'm not really deep into Jasmin testing, so I don't really know how it can work. I just know that Jasmine run some js files in template page and it's not really dependent on rails application.

Just a note for anyone encountering this issue.
We had a similar approach of saving fixtures during integration tests, then not being able to read the gon data during jasmine specs.
The solution was to also parse and save the gon data from the dom as a json file during the integration tests, then to load this data as a fixture.
