Oh wow, that's not good. Thanks for the report.
Such a bug would be in the Addons SDK then (which is the framework Copy ShortURL is using). Copy ShortURL itself does nothing special.
Can you go to about:crashes, click on the most recent crash, and give me the URL of that crash report? I'd like to find out if anyone has submitted a bug report for this yet.
