It sounds like your account is password protected.
In that case your QR code will contain the encrypted account information.
If you want your private key in human readable form, you will have to remove password protection before you export the account.

when i turn on the wallet, the password protection is off. As soon as i set the password for the account by typing it twice, i try to send lumens, but it wont let me do it with the same password that i just set.
it also wont show me the QR code. When i restart the wallet, somehow its NOT protected by the password again, but in the same time it wont show me a proper QR code even when its not protected with a password. Its really weird and looks like a bug. When i make another account in the same wallet, i do not have the same problem, the problem is seen only in account which i made at the first place and already recived lumens. I wrote you an email. i will be very thankful if you can help me to solve this problem.

I can not add contacts or send to Bittrex or pretty much do anything with this wallet. The only thing it appears to allow is trading on the VERY low volume Stellar trading platform. How can I get this wallet to send to anyplace other than my personal Stellar trading account?

Hello... I just downloaded the wallet for MAC OS. Having this same exact problem. Cannot send lumens back to bittrexx or anywhere for that matter.
any help would be greeeeattt!!

I am a semi geek and had to figure itout for myself. It took an entire day
of frustration! You first have to open a Lumen account on a CHINEESE
exchange

Once you get them on the exchange I sent do NOT try to do an exchange using
any of their formats as (if you check) they have NO volume and may be
scams. You should send them to a good exchange and sell them. Too much
trouble and people who own them do not understand how hard they are to
sell. I made good money but will no longer buy those.

Hello ,
I need help.
I can't send any lumens. when I type my password it doesn't work so when I try to export account, as mentionned above the QR code is encrypted.
any solutions to solve this problem ?
My wallet version is 1.6.0

But what was the solution?
I unlocked the wallet and cannot save a contact and cannot make a spend, even though I am trying to spend more than 20 XLM less than the balance. And other people in Github issues have the same unresolved problem.
Evidently I have added some contacts a year ago, but this was the first attempt to spend.
Oh, one thing I just wondered, if I have an inflation address set, does that LOCK my funds?

I don't know if this is related to the cause of the original poster's issue, but apparently my problem was caused by an update external to the Stargazer wallet, which stopped ALL (or very nearly all) spends from Stargazer.
As a workaround I was able to install another Desktop wallet and restore my wallet and spend from there, while the result was instantly displayed in Stargazer Desktop and Stargazer mobile.
