@eiriktsarpalis I can try to fix the behaviour for Windows (ref https://stackoverflow.com/questions/13796722/canonical-solution-for-escaping-net-command-line-arguments, https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/twistylittlepassagesallalike/2011/04/23/everyone-quotes-command-line-arguments-the-wrong-way/), what about linux?

I would propose to do a runtime OS check, if it is linux, run the current code, if it is Windows, run new code adapted from the above blog?

It may also be interesting to add a property test (using FsCheck), which generates pseudo-random strings and verify that they round-trip correctly ...
