We had this request a number of times, and in principle the whole REUSE team would like to move from Github to git.fsfe.org ASAP. There are two blockers however, resolving one of both would be fine:
- A feature in Gitea that would allow for non-conflicting use of the other authentication sources: go-gitea/gitea#7014
- Federation of Gitea instances to the point where issues and pull requests can be created
As long as neither of both is present, we cannot migrate to this instance (which is the one we absolutely prefer) without locking out a large number of contributor and bug reporters.
We are closely monitoring the progress of both areas, and also consider significantly supporting the work on Gitea federation.
