Could you be a bit more precise, please? If I'm guessing correctly this will be solved through the soon-to-come "delegate" option in icvpn-meta.

so I'd want an option to specify what entry in icvpn-meta belongs to this community. Then the ip ranges would not have to be specified twice and the information from icvpn-meta could be used (of course with a kinda complicated tool that would have to be written). That'd be one way to keep the two repos from doing the same thing.

IMO there's no problem.
- API files will describe a status quo, they're valid when we query them
- Other repos like ICVPN Meta or wiki tables describe the desired state
That's one of the reasons why we decided not to generate ICVPN scripts and network tables from API files.
It could also be a chicken-egg-problem
