Support for inputs other than TextArea about ghosttext HOT 3 CLOSED

I like your idea, but I have to check the feasibility first.

Editors with syntax highlighting are made of DOM elements, it's unlikely that we can just replace all those elements with plain text and expect the editor to understand what we did. We might have to add custom support for each editor, if they have easily accessible getters/setters. Not an easy task, we're definitely open to pull requests.

ACE does seem to have them:

editor.getValue();
editor.setValue("the new text here");

To avoid having to implement in-browser edit events too, we might set the editor to read-only until the connection is closed:

editor.setReadOnly(true);
