Nope, that is correct. The context for this is actually the response body, which is in JSON API format. The format is defined explicitly here: http://jsonapi.org/format/
The links object is what makes the API self-discoverable and thus hypermedia.

Doh! Ok, I got it now. Thank you for the clarification. I love the simplicity of Fortune, but both the Fortune and JSON API docs could stand to be a little more verbose. It could also stand to have more examples, like an example of integrating Passport versus just a suggestion of where the callback could be hooked in. I'll see what I can contribute as I get things working. Thanks for all your hard work on building and maintaining Fortune. It's a great project.
