I think there might be a missing setting on IIS and/or whatever web server jsFiddle uses. I created a sample page and just loaded it from the filesystem into both browsers and it works fine. I checked the MIME types in IIS, but .eot was already there and adding the others didn't solve the issue.

Definitely let me know if you figure this out. I'm not seeing this issue currently, so it's hard to tell what's going on.

I have been pushing on this for the better part of a day now. Very strange.

I am serving up a website using my local IIS under Windows 7. I have a simple page called 1.htm that shows the iconic font just fine in Chrome, but not in IE9 (don't have any other version to play with).

However, your Font Awesome site renders just fine in the same IE9 browser. Icons show perfectly. I copied the source HTML from your page, into my 1.htm and changed the relative links on the css and js to point back to your site. The page loads from my local IIS and looks nearly identical to yours, but the icons are once again displayed as squares (just like in the Fiddle). I don't know the web server for jsFiddle.net, but I doubt it is IIS. Maybe it is?

I am baffled by this. Did you happen to open the Fiddle referenced in the Stack question in IE9? I wonder how it renders for you?

I just looked at the Fiddle using a colleague's computer which has IE8 installed. The icon shows just fine on the Fiddle for her, so right now it appears isolated to IE9. I am going to find another IE9 instance to test this on, but so far on my laptop and desktop I am seeing the issue.

Can anyone post some URL's to other sites that are using this library? I can test against those as well. Much appreciated!

Found the issue. I had IE9 in compatibility mode. This caused the custom font icons to not appear.

Heh. Gotta love the compatibility mode "feature." Why does it seem to break things? :)
