Node module mismatch is due to the a post install script that builds deps for the current Electron version, which may not match your local Node version. You can run npm rebuild to target your Node version.
The verifyAddress error is known and do to a recent change that removed the callback from verifyAddress. You can comment out those tests until we add a callback to the verifyAddress implementation.
Agree with the two improvements you proposed.

Tests for verifyAddress fixed in #212. Once the client tests are fixed let's close this issue and move CI and quality checks to another ticket.
