Hey there, boy do I share your pain. While I haven't put any effort specifically into this for this project, I have some experience with it. I have had some success pulling photos from other domains, flickr specifically, but I think it requires some cooperation from the other party to work. Somehow after like 8 years video tags still feel kinda crappy don't they?

Not sure if you've seen this one: http://dontglobalmebro.ruhoh.com/webgl/displaying-youtube-video-in-webgl/ but this guy has gotten this working with YouTube, though unfortunately I think it requires him to do some kind of horrible framebuffer copy in a canvas element that might spell curtains for your framerate.

Thanks for the report, would be interested to hear what you find out. I just completed a rather large rewrite of this plugin that allows for multiple instances and is generally just less embarassing code. If you find a fix let me know, would love to keep improving it.

Could you send a link to what you're working on? Would love to get some examples of what people are doing on the homepage.

Hey Charlie, awesome. I hadn’t seen the YouTube implementation but will check it out. I will send you a link to our incorporation of the player soon, as we are still working out a few things. The framework we’re building it into is https://littlstar.com . We currently work with brands to capture hashtag collections around their campaigns. We just shot a 360 video for DKNY and will be testing with them. Anyone can sign up and create collections for free though! We collect images and videos for hashtags on Twitter and Instagram, and it doesn’t have to be just for brands. Could be for any hashtag.

We’ll let you know if we find anything else helpful for the player in the meantime.

Best,

Tony

Hi Tony and Charlie,

I've submitted pull request #20 which adds an option for a crossOrigin keyword, defaulting to 'anonymous'. This fixes problems I was having when using images or video I was sourcing from a cdn. However, Safari still complains and refuses to load video cross-origin (I've added this info to the documentation).

I'm a bit late to the party however—Tony I see you've made big strides with littlstar/Axis framework :)
