JWT string? about esp-adapter HOT 3 OPEN

I have the same issue.
I have so far not succeeded in getting an ESP-01 module connected using the .ino file at Github.
I am also in doubt about the thingUser and thingPwd ?
Are these my user and password for the gateway?
I don´t understand that is needed ?

The JWT string isn't actually needed at this point. The thingUser and thingPwd are what is used to log into the web server on the ESP device.

I assume it is not the wifi log on, because that is defined elsewhere in the .ino file.
I know the ESP01 acts as a web server, so this is actually the log on for the gateway to be able to access the ESP01 unit? Are there any criteria for this log on, special signs not to be used ? And why do you need a log on ?
