Correction of Semantic type (String) to match Binary type (Int) - does the schema version need to be changed? about fix-simple-binary-encoding HOT 2 CLOSED

What if it wasn't related to SecurityID. As you know CME doesn't use Secuity ID source.
What if this is just a Int32 type field that has Semantic type = String.

1. Does this mismatch violates the SBE rule?
2. Changing it from string to Int - does it create functional/ decoding issues?

Reducing the set of valid values is not a violation as one can easily translate an integer to a string. It is a violation if you extend the range compared to the FIX Repository, e.g. from int to string. The FIX application layer shows a semantic type which can be seen as maximum range of valid values.
