Have you tried tsocks? It wraps the syscalls and thus can transparently add SOCKS proxy support to virtually any app on Linux at least.

imho, no need to install tsocks under linux distros.... just type export socks5_proxy=socks5://ipaddr:port#

question is for windows. also, looks like possible to compile only with gcc 5 and higher. so my rhel 6/7 doesn`t support (already implemented servers), little bit sadly

When the application does not natively support SOCKS then that variable will have no effect. As far as I can see, the xmr miner does not. Even though, with a configured tsocks one can run:

tsocks xmr-stak-cpu config.txt

And everything goes through said proxy even DNS if so desired.

proxy would be great, got a bit of a server farm not doing anything many hours of the night...

also spent many hours now trying to get tsocks to work, but it just segmentation faults on me.. even using the latest patched version, tsocks_1.8beta5-9.3_amd64.deb but still have problems.. tsocks works for other stuff.. including ssh, wget etc.. but xmr-stak-cpu just core dumps.. and running xmr-stak-cpu without tsocks works but obviously its not able to go outside the firewall..

so adding support for a socks5 proxy would be really great..

If you use xmr-stak on windows, I suggest you use a softmate called proxifier, It can proxy for the softmate which not supports proxy.
